Veritas Ex Machina is a modern solution to the longstanding problem of trade in illicit counterfeit goods. By leveraging the most advanced technologies of today alongside corporate and government collaboration, Veritas provides a workable, efficient, and reliable solution to assist the anti-counterfeiting mission. One of the most pressing issues in the counterfeiting landscape is the unmanageable volume of individual packages which are being sent to and processed by customs officials and private companies each day. Our system addresses this challenge by implementing package inspection through the fusion of X-ray technology, optical scanning, and artificial intelligence. Veritas will analyze X-ray scans of packages with image recognition techniques powered by machine learning to identify key characteristics about the contained items. With information from the package's customs declaration and manufacturer provided data, Veritas can achieve automatic identification and reporting of counterfeit goods. Additionally, Veritas seeks to connect public and private stakeholders through improved lines of communication that promote the sharing and aggregation of counterfeiting practices. This solution is not only simple to use but also easy to implement into existing processing systems with minimal disruption to in-place methods.
